LuzForm was founded in 2002 so Stacey Noyes could gratify her interest in other peoples’ fields of expertise by translating their knowledge into books, identities, exhibit signage and websites. The projects featured on this site are a selection of the results to date.

Stacey began her career in publishing with Kids Can Press in Toronto and she owes KCP the very great favour of introducing her to design. She pursued the profession by moving across the country to study at Emily Carr Institute of Art + Design in Vancouver, graduating in 1997 with a Bachelor of Design.

She began her design career at Metaform Communication Design, a dynamic and award-winning studio in Vancouver. After a happy four years there, she heeded the call of new collaborations and began LuzForm in order to pursue them.

The name LuzForm comes from the all-too-brief six months she lived in Mexico City. In Spanish, the word luz sounds like “loose” and means light. In a communication design context, everything we see is light and form is whatever we use that light to make.

In addition to her design practice, from 2004 - 2007 Stacey also taught in the Continuing Studies and Communication Design program at Emily Carr University.
