The culmination of intense research to surface the histories of Chinese families who migrated to Burnaby in the early 20th century, Rooted: Chinese Canadian Stories in Burnaby, is a collection of first person accounts and archival material that reflect their diverse histories and contemporary experiences living and working in Burnaby. Winning an outstanding award from Heritage BC, the judges noted: “This beautiful book is remarkable for its role in filling a gap in the narrative at the Burnaby Village Museum. We also want to recognize your efforts to increase accessibility by providing the book in two languages.”
