DESIGN FOR LIVING: WEST COAST MODERN HOMES REVISITED

West Vancouver Art Museum

Catalogue and exhibition graphics accompanying Design for Living: West Coast Modern Homes Revisited. Inspired by the 1949 Design for Living exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery which had featured four case studies of prototypical modern homes, Design for Living: West Coast Modern Homes Revisited reviews the history of modern architecture on the West Coast of British Columbia and presents eight new case studies representing a spectrum of homes, all of which have been restored, updated, and adapted to the needs of contemporary family life while remaining true to the modernist spirit in which they were originally created.

Introduction by Darrin Morrison, essays by Greg Bellerby and Barry Downs, case studies by Kiriko Watanabe, Greg Bellerby, Adele Weder, Hilary Letwin and Alan Bell.
