Catalogue accompanying Lyse Lemieux’s exhibition, Trespassers / Intrus, which brought together sculpture and works on paper from a span of over thirty years as Lemieux reconfigured and reconsidered forms and influences, from her Catholic childhood’s French Canadien classroom to the multiple personal, physical and social selves women project, inhabit and experience. An Alcuin winner, the judges noted: “The palette of the cover, the pink headband, the off-white paper stock, and the black fore-edge that helps frame the artwork — all help to brilliantly reinforce the aesthetic essence of the featured artworks while also allowing that work to speak for itself.”
