Grass Scapes

Somewhere between a meditation on and reference book for ornamental grasses, expert grass breeder Martin Quinn shares his knowledge of the history and diversity of native and exotic grasses and provides practical and innovative ideas for incorporating them into a garden.

On first impression, Grass Scapes needed to reflect the meditative/pragmatic duality of its content. Upon detailed inspection, the design needed to both unite and differentiate narrative text, charts with photographs, charts with text listings, garden plans, photographs and watercolours, making it all super-accessible and welcoming.
