Months after selling his first novel to a major American publisher, Jan Lars Jensen woke in a psych ward, the ideas that had inspired his fiction roaming through his waking nightmares. Nervous System is his darkly comic memoir, both a cautionary tale to aspiring novelists and an unnerving exploration of writing and madness. Taking Jenson's dry humor at face value the cover design is quite cheeky, illustrating how books, Larsen's vocation, were also the cause of his mental undoing.
