Sweaterlodge
2005
The main element of SweaterLodge is a giant polar fleece sweater. Chosen to represent Canada at the 2006 Venice Biennale of Architecture, the multi-disciplinary firm Pechet and Robb re-envisioned this common article of Canadian street wear as an iconic architectural environment, reflective of Canada’s vast wilderness, resourcefulness, dedication to sustainable living and collective enjoyment of outdoor recreation.
Collaborating with Steedman Design, we were literal, focussing on the scale and bright orange of the sweater. Two brochures, invitation and poster played with the immense scale of the sweater and the website used the sweater as its main navigational tool. Our goal was to highlight the process, sustainability, uniqueness and scale of the project.
