Pechet+Robb
2004
Pechet and Robb is an architecture studio whose work deftly crosses disciplines, yet maintains a playful sense of inquiry and optimism throughout. Although serious, there is nothing cool and aloof about their work. Appropriately, designing their site was a balancing act: playfulness and rigour at either end.
On a technical level, P & R wanted their extensive portfolio easy to navigate and for each project to print cleanly. Also, to show hundreds of images and have them load quickly and, finally, to use Bill Pechet’s vision of marshmallows as a central motif. After much experimentation, the marshmallows became a navigational signal (and a metaphor for urban planning).
