Lectures on Architecture Poster

Every year the Vancouver League for Studies in Architecture organizes an international lecture series and commissions a different studio to design the poster to promote the series of speaker dates. In this case the only criteria given for the visual direction of the poster was to incorporate "wood" (the major sponsor was MacMillan Bloedel, now Weyerhaeuser). Instead of visualizing wood as a structural building material, we approached wood as a creative tool - it all starts with a pencil, and the accompanying pencil shavings.
